We have been having some very enjoyable times, in September here at James Place.

To begin with, we went and participated in the Paralympics alongside Eastleigh and Basingstoke enjoying all differing types of games which required the use of many skills. Some of these skills required to be used were; using our Motor skills by enabling our physical skills to Throw, Kick, Dance and pretend to skip, we also practiced using a Ball to make circular movements and experienced the use of Dumbbells.

In one of our Arts and Crafts sessions, we had a Mad Hatters Tea Party. We made some amazing Hair clips decorated with flowers whilst using our own designs, we decorated our own Mugs and also some Tea Plates. Later in the afternoon, some of the members helped to decorate tables, to host our Tea Party.

We all enjoyed listening to our audio story book whilst at our party, we enjoyed Sandwiches, Scones and some delicious cakes which some of our members baked on the same day, as part of our themed day. The story was The Tiger That Came To Tea which we recently went to see at the theatre. Fun, was had by us All.

On our regular visit to the library, our members had a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet a fantastic Pet Therapy Dog, Maisie. A discussion was given, all about how Maisie was trained and the different places where Maisie visits in her working roles, such as Schools and Nursing Homes.  A lovely lady named Ce-Celia read everybody 3 lovely stories.

At James Place, we always strive to deliver Numeracy and Literacy skills to all of our members and on this particular occasion one of our lovely members, Orrin had an eventful literacy and numeracy morning, he really adores Bart Simpson, Scooby Doo and can spell particular words and is able to count to different levels extremely well.

As part of our weekly outings, some of our members went to visit one of our local Nursing Homes in Andover, Harrier Grange. We sat and talked to some of the residents, enjoyed some drinks and as a token of our appreciation, we gave out some wonderful hand-crafted little Mice.
