May has been another fantastic month at James Place, packed with creativity, community activities, and plenty of opportunities for members to have fun and make memories together.
We kicked off the month with our Safari Week, where members enjoyed making colourful animal masks inspired by their favourite wild animals. It was a great chance to get creative while learning about different creatures from around the world.
Next came Eurovision Week, bringing lots of music, laughter, and singing. Members took part in our “Grab the Mic” game, testing their song knowledge and singing along to some well-loved favourites. The atmosphere was full of energy, and everyone had a brilliant time celebrating the excitement of Eurovision.
The warmer weather made an appearance this month too, and during a little heatwave we got the paddling pool out to help members cool down and enjoy some fun in the sunshine.
Our allotment plants are also continuing to thrive, and members have enjoyed helping to care for them and watching them grow.
We enjoyed several exciting trips throughout May, including a visit to the splash park and a trip to Westquay to see the impressive Star Cars display. Members also enjoyed getting out into the local community for walks, helping to build confidence and independence while enjoying the fresh air.
Back at the centre, we had lots of fun with group dancing sessions, bringing everyone together through music and movement. We also enjoyed a lovely café lunch outing, giving members the chance to socialise and enjoy a meal together in the community.
Our cooking sessions were another highlight of the month, with members preparing and enjoying a delicious vegetable curry for lunch. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and developing their cooking skills.
