June has been another fantastic month, filled with fun, friendship and plenty of opportunities for our members to learn new skills, build confidence and create lasting memories. From enjoying the sunshine to trying new activities, it’s certainly been a month to remember!

Our cooking sessions have continued to be a favourite, giving members the chance to get hands-on in the kitchen and prepare a variety of delicious meals and treats. We made homemade pizzas, enjoyed a cook-your-own lunch with quiche, chips and salad, baked together and even created our own refreshing ice lollies to help cool down during the warmer weather. These sessions are always a great way to encourage independence, teamwork and creativity while having lots of fun.

During our Emergency Services Week, members learned about the different emergency services, the important roles they play within our communities and when they may be needed. We were lucky enough to have an ambulance visit us, which was a fantastic addition to the week’s activities and helped bring everything we had been learning to life.

One of the highlights of the month was our annual Sports Day, which was full of energy, laughter and friendly competition. Everyone got involved in a range of exciting games and activities, with the “Splash the Staff” challenge proving to be one of the biggest hits of the day. The hilarious “runny” egg and spoon race also had everyone laughing and cheering each other on. It was wonderful to see so much encouragement, teamwork and fun throughout the event.

The June sunshine certainly made an appearance, and we made the most of the beautiful weather. We spent time outdoors enjoying the paddling pool, cooling off with water fights and making the most of the heatwave together. To top it all off, we were delighted to welcome an ice cream van, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a well-earned sweet treat in the sunshine.

We’ve also had some fantastic days out in the community this month. Members enjoyed getting creative with pottery painting, had a brilliant Day dancing at Orange Rooms, put their bowling skills to the test and headed to the cinema to watch Toy Story 5. These outings provide great opportunities to socialise, try new experiences and continue building confidence in the community while creating wonderful memories together.

As always, it’s been amazing to see our members embracing every activity with enthusiasm, supporting one another and making the most of every opportunity. We look forward to another exciting month ahead and can’t wait to see what adventures July will bring!
