We have all been enjoying the sunshine this month, the members have been visiting different places, seeing their friends from Eastleigh and Basingstoke JP and lots more. To start off August a group went Sunflower Picking, they absolutely loved looking round the gardens to find the tallest ones! Several members also went on a boat trip with Mel; they met their friends from Basingstoke and Eastleigh JP and enjoyed an unforgettable experience. we have been walking up to the village park each week, where we have played on the equipment, chatted in the sunshine and enjoyed yoga on the field.
We had a visitor who used to be a baker for many years, who came in and helped the members make fresh batches of different flavored breads.
Our favorite was the garlic and cheese and sundried tomatoes. We were taught how to bake bread from start to finish and finished the session off with creating animal shaped bread loaves to give out for bingo prizes at the end of the day.
We went on a trip near Romsey to an ice cream parlor and café. We enjoyed lunch there while purchasing items from the café and eating lovely ice creams, it was great fun! We also visited Enham Charity Shop towards the end of the month. The members enjoyed looking around the shop, being out in the community and enjoyed sitting in the tea room for coffee, cake and played different games!
JP annual sports day 2025!
It was full of laughter, joy, smiles and fun! All the JP locations came together and played different sports games in teams. All the members received a certificate and medal at the end of the day! We had a smoothie station and Zumba session in the morning which was great fun. We had a surprise visit from the Ice Cream Man which was very exciting!! The day was great from start to finish.
During summer senses week, the members made lavender bags which were freshly picked filled them up and added a tag to take home, we also made a few for the JP location!
Cowboys and Indians included lots of music, dancing and making headdresses and create a cowboy in the craft room.
We had a Monsters Inc inspired day; the members crafted masks, make monster cookies to decorate and take home with them! We ended the day with a quiz in the hall about the film and made some popcorn and watched part of the film in the sensory room.
The members have loved sitting in the gardens at JP, sitting by the paddling pool with all the inflatables, keeping the flowers watered and playing sports games outside.
It has been a wonderful month; we can’t wait for next month.
