February has been a busy and exciting few weeks for us, with lots of new projects, celebrations, and achievements to be proud of!

Work has well and truly begun on our brand-new outdoor sensory area, and what a difference it has already made!

Phoebe and the members have rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in clearing, tidying, and jet washing the space.

Their hard work is really paying off, and it’s been wonderful to see everyone taking such pride in creating an area that will soon become a calm, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for all.

We had a fantastic time celebrating Chinese New Year with some truly stunning dragon art. Members embraced the creativity of the celebration and produced colourful, eye-catching designs inspired by traditional dragons. Alongside the art, we explored Chinese culture — learning about traditions, customs, and of course, food! Everyone helped to cook a delicious Chinese lunch, which was thoroughly enjoyed. It was a brilliant way to combine cultural learning with hands-on life skills.

Exploring Healthy Habits; Health and wellbeing have also been a big focus for us. We explored the importance of healthy habits, looking at nutritious foods and the benefits of physical exercise. Members took part in discussions and activities that helped them understand how small daily choices can make a big difference to overall wellbeing.

Some of our members have now joined the gym! They had the opportunity to explore and try out all the different machines, stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing new challenges. From strength training equipment to flexibility-focused exercises, everyone gave it their all, and it truly showed. Building strength, flexibility, and confidence is such an important part of overall wellbeing. We place a strong emphasis on nurturing both a healthy mind and a healthy body, and sessions like this highlight just how powerful that combination can be. Physical activity not only strengthens muscles but also boosts self-belief, resilience, and positivity.

valentines/palentines day

Valentine’s / Palentine’s Day were huge successes!

There was such a lovely atmosphere as members created thoughtful cards for their loved ones and friends.

It was heartwarming to see so much kindness, appreciation, and creativity on display.

Celebrating friendship and showing gratitude is something we truly value.

Growing Our Own Grass Seed Houses; One of our favourite ongoing projects has been growing our very own grass seed houses. The excitement has been building as everyone checks daily to see whose grass has grown the fastest! It’s been a fun and interactive way to learn about growth, patience, and responsibility, with a little friendly competition along the way.

Our Talent Week was an absolute hit! We saw the return of the ever-popular “JP’s Got Talent,”

Which once again showcased the incredible confidence and abilities of our members. From singing to performing, the energy and encouragement in the room was amazing.

Our new karaoke machine has also gone down a treat! It’s safe to say it will be getting plenty of use in the months ahead.

Mel and her budding team of gardeners have been making the most of the brighter days whenever the weather allows.

They’ve been busy planting beautiful spring flowers along with a variety of vegetables. There’s something so rewarding about planting and nurturing new life, and we’re all excited to see (and taste!) the results when harvest time arrives in the spring.

It’s been a fantastic month full of teamwork, creativity, learning, and laughter. We are so proud of everything our members have achieved and can’t wait to see what the next few months bring!
