March has been full of colour, creativity, and fun at James Place, with lots of exciting activities to keep our members engaged and smiling throughout the month.

We began the month by exploring the Holi festival of colour. Members enjoyed a variety of sensory activities including colourful rice, playdough, and slime. We also created a large, vibrant piece of artwork using water balloons outside, which was a fantastic way to celebrate such a joyful and meaningful festival together.

As we moved through the month, we got creative for Mother’s Day, making thoughtful gifts and cards. Everyone took great pride in their work, and it was lovely to see the effort and care that went into each creation.

We also spent time learning about the human body. Members created their own body pictures, exploring where bones and organs are located. This was a fun and interactive way to support learning and understanding of how our bodies work.

One of the highlights this month was our “make your own lunch” session, where members made their own pasta and pasta sauce completely from scratch. Everyone got involved in the process, from preparing ingredients to cooking, and it was a great opportunity to build independence skills while enjoying a delicious homemade meal together.

To celebrate World Book Day, we all dressed up as pirates and embraced a Peter Pan theme. Members made their own Neverland signposts and took part in an exciting treasure hunt, which was a highlight for many.

Alongside all of our in-house activities, our members have also enjoyed a variety of trips out in the community. These included a fun bowling trip, a visit to the National Motor Museum, a trip to Pavilion in the Park for Jukebox Jam, as well as regular visits to the park. We also made the most of the lovely weather with a walk to our local pub, where members enjoyed relaxing together in the garden.

It’s been a lovely month at James Place, full of engagement, creativity, and smiles. We look forward to seeing what next month brings!
