April began with a theatrical start with a fantastic inter- location trip to the Theatre Royal in Winchester where members emersed themselves in the sights and sounds of the big stage.  Staff of the theatre guided our members through workshops to create their own masks before treading the boards of the stage itself, members gained an insight into the work behind the scenes of a performance and how it must feel to be a performer.

While we were in the mood for entertainment later that week members took a trip to the Pavilion on the Park to join in with Juke Box Jam, this was a great way to meet up with friends from other day services and supported living homes.

Week 2 brought us the acronym A.P.R.I.L where the talented team members created activities from each letter of April, this gave such a wide range including Loom weaving, addition, Painting, visiting Lakes.

One such trip to Hiltingbury Lake gave some of our members the opportunity to hone their photography skills taking photographs of the wildlife they found; they were very interested to find out that they took a picture of a Canadian Goose.  So much can be gained from walking, chatting and breathing in the spring air on walks together definitely good or the overall wellbeing of our minds and bodies.

Week 3 Was Easter week where members prepared for the arrival of our young guests from Bright Horizons Nursery, Members created a look a like egg of either themselves of a team member to hide,  The Children arrived quite excited to discover that they can create their own egg too led in this activity by our now expert members before going into the garden to hunt for the hidden eggs, one of our members was on hand to give our Easter  stickers to the children to reward them for their efforts.

We had an extra treat to round off our Easter Week, Jelvis  (Jacob as Elvis) a talented young man from the local SEN community came to give us a concert singing songs and playing the guitar from a wide range of genres and era’s.  He loved being with us that much he decided to stay a little longer to have some lunch and throw some darts with our members. Thank you, Jacob, you were truly inspiring to our members not to mention a pretty awesome singer.

Also, during Easter one of our amazing bank team celebrated a special birthday, very happy birthday to you.

During emergency services week a ‘crime’ was committed at Eastleigh; our biscuits were stolen. Members lifted fingerprints off the tin, compared foodprints and measured the size of the shoes, mug shots were taken and everyone was a suspect.  Finally, the crime was solved…It was a very hungry Location Manager after work the evening before she spent time in the ‘prison’ and then bailed.  Later in the day we joined Basingstoke in meeting a local police officer for a Q & A session.
