All aboard Our Christmas 2025 Polar Express blog…toot…Leaving from The Pavilion. Eastleigh all through December 2025.
Ho, ho, ho! Full steam ahead, our first station is:
St Barnabas Church, Harestock
Members followed the Shepherds trail to discover Joseph’s story – in a fun, interactive and engaging way. Local parishioners gave up their time to act out parts of Joesph’s journey. Member listened closely the carpenter showing his craft to Joesph in the stable with the manger. Members were gifted a beautiful keep sake made by the congregation. After lunching in the hall we toured all of the fantastic Christmas trees in the competition. We entered as a multi-location activity, planning and crafting our tree.
Brace yourselves we have now reached our next station: Hiltingbury Farm
Our fridge was barer than Old Mother Hubbard’s, so we decided to go the farm to purchase some fresh milk and look at the seasonal items in the shop. When we arrived the urn was empty, but not to fear the farmer was on his way, delivering a full urn on his tractor. Members loved watching it being unloaded and posing for photos with him before an explanation on changing of the urn from the farmers wife. We paid for our milk and took a cheeky look at some cows and horse before returning to make some delicious hot chocolate.
Passengers for Juke Box Jam please alight here.
Our musical friend at the Pavilion on the Park was retiring and we popped along to boggy with him one last time. Meeting up with some of our friends past and present from James’ Place, you are never too far from someone you know here.
Tickets Please, next station: Panto… oh no it isn’t, oh yes, it is!!
Most of our members managed a trip to the Panto at The Theatre Royal, Winchester to see Puss in Boots, plenty of slap stick comedy. Plenty of boo’s and hisses, really got us into the Christmas Spirit.
Now calling at: Winter Showcase:
The Polar Express charged into The Pavilion driven by our local friend Jacob aka Jelvis aka the Train Driver, parents, carers, grandparents, siblings and members all dance the afternoon away being thoroughly entertained by Jacob and his trusty guitar.
Our final station: St Matthews Church,
Otterbourne Primary School kindly invited us to their choir service at St Matthews Church, the children sung beautifully and certainly ended our year off in a very festive manner.
We would like to wish you a very warm Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year. Thanking each and everyone of you for your support over the last year and looking forward to making new memories in our James’ Place Family.
