March has been a fun and busy month at James’ Place, with members creating thoughtful handmade gifts for Mother’s Day, learning about the human body, and enjoying trips out to a local café and a bowling alley. We also welcomed visitors from our other locations, giving everyone the chance to socialise, build friendships, and share new experiences.

We began the month by getting crafty in preparation for Mother’s Day. Members put time, care, and thought into creating homemade gifts for their loved ones, taking part in a range of creative activities. A highlight was painting their own personalised flowerpots, where everyone chose their own colours and designs to make something truly unique. Once finished, members carefully planted a primrose in each pot, creating a meaningful gift to take home and share. Alongside this, members also made personalised cards and handmade keepsakes, adding thoughtful messages and decorative touches. It was lovely to see everyone expressing appreciation in such heartfelt ways.

Alongside our creative activities, we’ve also been having fun learning about the human body. Members showed great curiosity and enthusiasm, getting stuck into activities and sharing what they already knew. We had lots of fun creating our own skeletons, learning about major bones like the femur, humerus, and skull along the way. Things got even more interactive when members drew around each other and filled in the body with organs, placing the kidneys, heart, and liver in the right spots. There were plenty of laughs, great conversations, and lots of hands-on learning in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Getting out into the community was another highlight! Members had a lovely time visiting a local café to practise their social skills and enjoy some tasty treats, but the real fun came at Hollywood in the Oracle for a bowling trip. Our friends from the Basingstoke location joined us, and we all had a blast playing games together, lots of laughs, friendly competition, and cheering each other on. To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a sweet treat afterwards, choosing between a creamy hot chocolate or a delicious milkshake. It was a day full of fun, smiles, and good vibes!

To make the month even more special, we were delighted to welcome visitors from our other locations. This time, our friends from the Andover location came to visit, giving everyone a chance to meet new people, share experiences, and enjoy some fun activities together. We got creative making mosaic clay fridge magnets and later had a lively game of bingo, full of laughter and friendly competition. Seeing members connect, have fun, and build new friendships was truly heartwarming and reminded us why the community at James’ Place is so unique.

Overall, March has been a month full of growth, fun, and togetherness at James’ Place. From getting creative with Mother’s Day gifts to learning about the human body, from bowling adventures to welcoming friends from other locations, every day has been packed with laughter, learning, and new experiences. We’ve loved seeing our members try new things, build confidence, and form new friendships along the way. We’re incredibly proud of everything our members have achieved this month and can’t wait to see what exciting activities, adventures, and moments of connection April will bring!
