January has been a wonderful and refreshing start to the new year here at James Place. After returning from the festive break, everyone enjoyed coming back together and sharing their thoughts and ideas for the year ahead. We held group discussions around New Year’s resolutions, talking about personal goals, hopes and things we would like to achieve in 2026. These conversations encouraged confidence, reflection and lots of supportive listening within the group.
We were also excited to visit our new reading location this month. Everyone made the most of the welcoming and peaceful space, enjoying time to relax, and explore the surroundings. It was lovely to see how much the group appreciated having a new environment to spend time in, and we look forward to making many more visits there throughout the year.
One of the highlights of January was working together to cook our own farmhouse breakfast. Everyone got involved, from preparing ingredients to helping serve the food. The breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed by all and created a great sense of teamwork, achievement and shared enjoyment.
Staying active and having fun has also been a big part of our month. We’ve enjoyed lots of dancing, yoga sessions and movement activities, helping to boost both physical wellbeing and mood. Alongside this, we’ve been out and about on trips to garden centres and cafés, giving everyone the opportunity to socialise, relax and enjoy time in the community.
Overall, January has been a positive and motivating month at James Place. It’s been lovely to see everyone settling back into routines, trying new things and supporting one another. We’re excited to build on this great start and look forward to everything the year ahead has to offer.
We’re also delighted to share some exciting team updates this month! Jess has now officially moved fully into her role as Location Manager for our new Reading West location, with some familiar member faces from Basingstoke joining her — exciting times ahead! We’re also delighted to share that Sue has moved full-time into the role of Deputy Location Manager, and Rosie has been promoted to Senior Group Leader. Huge congratulations to all three — very well-deserved and we’re so proud of you all!’
